Tbilisi – Mtskheta – Tbilisi
Transfer from the airport. Tbilisi, the name of the city comes from the word “warm”, ancient picturesque, cultural capital of Georgia, founded by Georgian King Vakhtang Gorgasali in IV century AD. Tour starts from visiting the marvelous  Trinity Cathedral of Georgia, ancient churches Sioni, Anchiskhati, Metekhi, it is the place where the city was built from. We will walk through the narrow streets of the old Tbilisi, observe the sulfur bath district and Narikala fortress.

 

15After observing the capital, we will move to Mtskheta city. Mtskheta – the city which is completely listed in UNESCO Heritage Sites. We will visit the Samtavro monastery, where the georgian christianity started from in IV century, Jvari monastery, which was described in famous russian writers Lermontovs poem “Where merge Aragva and her twin,
Kura, and fast rush onward, in Times past, a lonely cloister stood”.
We will finish this tour by visiting the symbol of united, complete and independent Georgia – Svetitskhoveli Cathedral. Getting back to Tbilisi

Day 2 Tbilisi – Batumi

After breakfast we’ll move to Batumi. Walking around the city. Overnight at the hotel in Batumi.

Day 3 Batumi – Botanical Garden – Gonio – Batumi
After breakfast we will go to the botanical garden, which is located near Batumi. Batumni Botanical Garden is one of the largest botanical gardens in the former USSR.

It is founded by Russian botanist and geographer Andrey Nikolaevich Krasnov in 1880 and officially opened on November 3, 1912.

Then, visiting Gonio Fortress, which was a Roman forepost in Adjara, on the Black Sea coast. The first mention of the castle belongs to Piline Junior(I centuryAD). In the II century AD it was a well-fortified Roman city in Colchis. Night stay in Batumi.

 

 

Day 4
Batumi – Zugdidi – Mestia

After breakfast, moving to Zugdidi, main city of Samegrelo region. Here we will visit Dadiani Palace. Fine ancestral palace of the Dadiani is a real jewelery of the town which emphasizes its meaning in the past. Surname- Dadiani- is an ancient aristocratic name, which were Napoleon Bonaparte’s relatives. After walking around wonderful garden near the Palace we’ll go to Mestia. Night stay in  Mestia.

Day 5
Mestia

A walk around Mestia after having breakfast. Visiting a museum. It’s better not to have a talk but visit Mestia. Wonderful landscape, amazing mountains  and old, untouched by the enemy Svanetian towers. Night stay.

Day 6

Mestia – Ushguli – Mestia

After breakfast moving to Ushguli. Ushguli – the highest permanently inhabited mountainous community (not a village) in Europe. It is located at 2 200 meters far east of Svaneti. It is locatedat the beginning of the Enguri River, at the foot of the mountain Shkhara (5068 m.). Return to Mestia.

Day 7

Mestia – Tbilisi. Transfer to the airport.
